India refused to accept the Women's Asia Cup trophy from Mohsin Naqvi following their 72-run victory over Sri Lanka in the final. The match, held at the Dubai International Stadium, attracted a crowd of 16,339 fans, with the majority being supporters of India. Harmanpreet Kaur, captain of the Indian team, chose not to accept the trophy, echoing the male players' decision from the previous year's Men's Asia Cup, where they refused to shake hands with Pakistan's players.

Mohsin Naqvi, who served as the president of the Asian Cricket Council and presented the trophy on each occasion, was present to witness the stand-off. India's coach, Amol Mazumdar, stated that the tournament was over for them, and they were content with being champions. India's players performed well, with their openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma playing outstandingly, while their bowling attack, led by Shree Charani and Deepti Sharma, restricted Sri Lanka to 111 runs.

Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu, who picked up the runners-up cheque, acknowledged that their performance was not their best but assured that they would bounce back before the upcoming Asian Games.
