Haze update: 22 areas register unhealthy air quality at 4pm

As of 4pm today, 22 locations across Malaysia were found to have unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings, according to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS). In Sarawak, the areas of Serian, Sri Aman, Samarahan, and Kuching all recorded unhealthy API values of 181, 166, 153, and 152, respectively. Johor experienced elevated air pollution in Pasir Gudang (157), Larkin (156), Pengerang (153), Tangkak (150), Kluang (147), and Kota Tinggi (122).

Selangor had areas such as Johan Setia (161), Shah Alam (151), and Banting (107) with unhealthy API readings. Nilai (155) and Seremban (153) in Negeri Sembilan, as well as Alor Gajah (132) and Bukit Rambai (107) in Melaka, also experienced unhealthy conditions. In Pahang, Balok Baru, Kuantan (113) and Indera Mahkota, Kuantan (109) were affected, while Perak's Cheras (156), Kuala Lumpur (156), and Putrajaya (152) recorded moderate API levels.

Only Kangar in Perlis had a good API reading of 126. API values range from 0-50 indicating good air quality, 51-100 moderate, 101-200 unhealthy, 201-300 very unhealthy, and 300 and above hazardous.
