Bomb threat at JB’s Mid Valley Southkey a hoax

Johor Bahru police have declared a recent bomb threat at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey, a hoax. The mall management had alerted authorities to the email, which claimed a bomb would be detonated at a business location within the premises. Johor police chief Ab Rahaman Arsad confirmed the threat was false, stating that bomb disposal units from Johor police headquarters and Johor Bahru Selatan police headquarters conducted security checks and a sweep of the area.

Despite finding several suspicious objects during the inspection, the bomb disposal teams determined the items contained no explosive materials, and the affected area was declared safe. This incident follows a similar hoax in July, when police received a report about an email alleging a bomb had been placed at Centrepoint South Tower, Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur.
