Bomb threat at Mid Valley Southkey confirmed hoax

Johor Baru police have declared a bomb threat at a business location within The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey, a hoax after conducting a thorough inspection. The Johor police chief, Datuk Ab Rahaman Arshad, informed the public that police received an email warning of an explosive device at the mall around 11:31 PM last night. This prompted the immediate deployment of the bomb disposal unit (UPB) from both the Johor police contingent headquarters and the South Johor Baru district police headquarters.

During the inspection, which covered both the interior and exterior of the building, UPB teams discovered several suspicious objects. However, none of these objects contained any explosive materials. Following the inspection, the area was declared completely safe. Ab Rahaman emphasized that police treat any threats involving explosives with the utmost seriousness and will take prompt action to ensure the safety of the public.
