Anthony Loke urges PH council meeting amid political uncertainty

SUNGAI BULOH: DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke, who also holds the position of Transport Minister, has urged Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to convene a presidential council meeting of Pakatan Harapan (PH) to assess the recent political developments, citing worries over political certainty and stability. Loke expressed his concern over recent statements made by component parties in the unity government, which seem to lack a shared approach, potentially diminishing investor and public confidence.

His remarks came in response to Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's call on September 12 for the government to either hold a general election for a new mandate or expel Barisan Nasional from the coalition. Loke stated that he would definitely request the Prime Minister to convene the PH presidential council meeting to review and discuss the latest developments.

The statements made by some parties were deemed unsuitable for maintaining political certainty and stability within the country, according to Loke. He made this suggestion after the launch of Carsome's Malaysia's first academy-backed MV15 inspection centre. Loke believes that the Prime Minister must clarify the situation with all component parties upon his return from his overseas trip.
