Tinubu heads for Paris from London

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made his way to Paris, France as part of his annual three-week vacation in Europe. Upon arrival, he was greeted by Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke. The arrival was captured in a video shared by the Daily Trust, showing the President being welcomed by officials in Paris.

President Tinubu departed Abuja on Sunday, August 30th, heading first to London, United Kingdom. According to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the President's initial destination was London. It is expected that he will return to Nigeria after this vacation to recommence his campaign efforts ahead of the January 2027 election.

During his arrival in Paris, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, addressed journalists and emphasized that the vacation was well-deserved. He explained that after months of attending to state matters, making monumental decisions related to security and the economy, and taking on the responsibility of running the country, the President needs a break to "refuel".

Dare stated that the President has had numerous months engaged with state matters and has taken significant decisions. With the campaign season just beginning, and four to five months of serious campaigning ahead, it is crucial for the President to take a well-deserved break. Despite being on leave, the President will continue to be engaged with state matters through daily briefings from his ministers, service chiefs, and other key decision-makers.
