Sifuna seeks nairobi backing for oppostion unity

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has called on local residents to support efforts to bring opposition leaders together prior to the 2027 General Election. Speaking to his followers, Sifuna emphasized that the opposition could only defeat President William Ruto if they collaborated rather than pursuing separate political agendas. "The people of Nairobi, I want to express my gratitude for your votes that led me to the Senate due to my efforts there.

Now, across Kenya, many are singing they are also 'Sifuna,'" Sifuna remarked. He acknowledged that his success in the Senate would not have been possible without the community's backing. Sifuna urged supporters to be willing to work alongside opposition leaders, such as Kalonzo Musyoka and Rigathi Gachagua. The former ODM Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for Nairobi's electoral choice and the platform it provided him to impact national politics.

Sifuna lamented the current administration's oppressive policies, including rising taxes, hindering small-scale traders, and mistreating the youth. He proclaimed, "Honorable Ruto, your time has expired; there is no additional hour!"
