Sifuna seeks Nairobi backing for opposition unity

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has appealed to Nairobi residents to support efforts to unite opposition leaders for the 2027 General Election. Speaking to supporters, Sifuna emphasized that the opposition could defeat President William Ruto only if its leaders collaborated, rather than focusing on individual political goals. "People of Nairobi, I want to extend my gratitude for your votes that led to my election to the Senate due to my work in the Senate.

Kenya is now singing that they are also 'Sifuna'," Sifuna stated. He thanked Nairobi residents, who he believes have lifted him up and provided him with an opportunity to influence national politics. Sifuna urged supporters to be prepared to work alongside opposition leaders, including Kalonzo Musyoka and Rigathi Gachagua. The former ODM Secretary-General criticized President Ruto, stating that he has increased taxes, restricted small-scale traders, and is oppressive to the youth.

Sifuna concluded by warning that Ruto's time in office is limited, stating, "Honorable Ruto, his time is up; there is not a single extra hour!"
