Sorry Fahmi, Taufiq was too fast in battle of ministers at Merdeka Run

KUALA LUMPUR: Youth and Sports Minister Dr Taufiq Johari appeared to have triumphed in the race against Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil during the Oxyenergy Media Prima Merdeka Run at Balai Berita today. However, Taufiq was gracious enough to propose a rematch at a future Youth and Sports Ministry event. The light-hearted rivalry added a fun element to the event, which attracted approximately 1,500 participants.

Taufiq emphasized the importance of such activities in promoting healthier lifestyles and national unity. He commended the initiative as part of the ministry's efforts towards a healthier Malaysia. Taufiq also highlighted how these events foster unity among Malaysians of different backgrounds. Meanwhile, Fahmi, the MP for Lembah Pantai, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to engage with his constituents while participating in a healthy activity.

He acknowledged Media Prima Club for organizing the run, which comprised three-, five-, and special categories for persons with disabilities. The inaugural event featured Glasgow Commonwealth Games weightlifting gold medallists Aniq Kasdan and Aznil Bidin.
