Arch Manning Didn't Hold Back After Texas Gets Revenge on Ohio State

Arch Manning, the star quarterback of Texas, demonstrated his determination to avenge last season's loss to Ohio State when his team secured a 24-23 victory at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday. After a 14-7 defeat in the previous contest, Manning and the No. 4 Texas Longhorns faced a challenging first half, trailing Ohio State 20-3 at halftime. The Buckeyes extended their lead to 23-3 before the third quarter ended.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day had predicted a fourth-quarter game during halftime, and his intuition proved correct. However, Ohio State ultimately faltered, allowing Texas to score the final three touchdowns of the match, securing a narrow 24-23 win. Manning expressed his pride in his team's resilience, stating, "I'm so proud of our guys, they're all competitors. It wasn't very pretty, but we found a way to win. That's what good teams do."

Despite not performing ideally, Manning completed 23 of 37 passes for 196 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, which was attributed to a dropped pass by receiver Cam Coleman. Meanwhile, Manning contributed another 22 yards on the ground. The quarterback admitted he had nightmares about the 2023 game and expressed his eagerness to avenge it, saying, "We'll have a good night in Austin."

The Texas victory marked Manning's best win thus far, as he had beaten the No. 1 ranked team in the country. The Longhorns have solidified their position in the national championship conversation with this home triumph over the Buckeyes. Last year, Texas's loss to Ohio State, along with three other defeats, prevented them from making the College Football Playoff.

However, with Saturday's victory, the Longhorns now possess some cushion in their nine-game SEC schedule, potentially ensuring their spot in the CFP for the upcoming season.
