Nashik: Teachers Blame Administrative Pressure For Malegaon Teacher’s Death

In a tragic incident in Malegaon, Maharashtra, teachers at Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya / Prashantdada Hire (Municipal) Secondary and Higher Secondary School have blamed administrative pressure for the death of Sopan Khanderao Borse, a 51-year-old teacher. The Maharashtra State Teachers’ Council (Nashik Division) submitted a memorandum to the Nashik District Collector, attributing Borse's death to repeated and coercive inquiries conducted by officials.

The teachers' association claimed that the inquiry committee and the administrator subjected Borse to mental pressure, causing his demise. They demanded that any inquiry should be conducted at the appropriate level, not at the school level. The association has also called for the immediate extension of the Old Pension Scheme (1982) to Borse's legal heirs, taking responsibility for the education of his children and granting them immediate employment.

They have demanded the arrest of officials responsible for Borse's death and the cessation of futile educational inquiries in the district. The teachers' association has strongly condemned the incident and has submitted their demands to the District Collector, requesting that they be forwarded to the Chief Minister.
