Ministry of Social Development and Family launches "Digitally Aware Family" campaign

The Ministry of Social Development and Family in Qatar inaugurated the Digitally Aware Family campaign on Sunday, emphasizing the slogan "Their Protection, Your Responsibility." The national initiative, involving 20 entities, seeks to bolster digital safety awareness and empower families to safeguard their children in an increasingly tech-driven world.

This campaign aligns with the Ministry's 2025-2030 National Strategy, which aims to foster family cohesion, adapt to technological advancements, and promote human and social development in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Undersecretary Khalifa bin Issa Al Kubaisi highlighted that the campaign reflects Qatar's dedication to equipping families to embrace digital transformations confidently and responsibly. He stressed that digital safety is now a societal and family priority, impacting child-rearing, mental health, privacy, and domestic stability. The campaign acknowledges the pervasive role of digital platforms in daily life, noting their profound influence on children's behavior, values, and well-being.

Al Kubaisi stressed that effective protection hinges on active awareness, ongoing family discussions, and balanced digital habits, rather than strict restrictions. The campaign, under the Digital Safety Committee for Children and Youth, unites national entities to assess digital security trends, propose policies and awareness programs, and coordinate efforts across Qatar.

The initiative targets children, parents, professionals, content creators, and family welfare organizations, with three core objectives: raising awareness about digital risks, promoting safe internet usage, and fostering national coordination among stakeholders.

To achieve these goals, the campaign follows three interconnected phases: Risk Awareness, Practical Protection, and Responsibility & Reporting. Concurrent with the launch, the ministry launched the official eSafety portal (www.esafety.qa) as a centralized digital platform offering educational guides, awareness materials, resources, and digital content. The Ministry urged all families and community stakeholders to participate in the campaign and utilize the portal's resources to integrate digital safety into daily life.
