Melaka water is safe, state govt says after human remains found

After suspected human remains were discovered at Durian Tunggal dam in Melaka, the state government has assured the public that treated water in the region remains safe for consumption. State Secretary Salhah Salleh stated that water quality is continuously monitored and tested in accordance with established standards. The government has decided to intensify monitoring and inspections, including further sampling and testing.

Salhah emphasized that the discovery of the suspected remains should not be considered contamination or a threat to the water supply. She urged the public to refrain from panic, jumping to conclusions, or disseminating unverified information regarding water safety, the victim's identity, or the cause of the incident.
