Melaka water is safe, state govt says after human remains found

The state government of Melaka has reassured the public that its treated water remains safe following the discovery of suspected human remains at Durian Tunggal dam. State Secretary Salhah Salleh stated that water quality monitoring in the state is conducted in accordance with established standards and has shown the treated water is safe for consumption.

The government will intensify monitoring and inspections, including additional sampling and testing to ensure the safety of the water supply. Salhah emphasized that the discovery of human remains at the dam should not be viewed as contamination or a threat to the water supply. She urged the public not to panic, draw hasty conclusions, or share unverified information regarding the water's safety, the victim's identity, or the cause of the incident.
