Haaland strike gives Man City 1-0 win over Man United

Erling Haaland scored a crucial second-half goal to secure a 1-0 victory for Manchester City over arch-rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday. Initially, the goal was disallowed for offside, but after a thorough review by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), the decision was overturned based on footage indicating that Haaland's foot was onside when he put the ball home.

Midway through the first half, City defender Phil Foden was sent off for a reckless challenge on Bruno Fernandes. United managed to hit the crossbar twice, once by Marcus Rashford and again by Kobbie Mainoo, before halftime. Despite this early setback, Manchester City took the lead just before the hour mark when Haaland found the back of the net from a tight angle.

The win puts City in second place in the league table on 12 points from four matches, trailing league leaders Arsenal by goal difference. Manchester United, on the other hand, remains in the 13th position with just four points from their first four games of the season.
