Bayern Munich are set to face Bundesliga surprise package SV Elversberg in a highly anticipated match on Sunday at 17:30 CEST. The Bavarians were recently knocked out of the top spot after a 0-0 draw against Schalke 04, but they bounced back with a 5-0 win against Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League. Serge Gnabry is the only doubt for the Bayern starting lineup.
Elversberg, who were recently promoted, have started their season impressively with two victories against top-tier clubs, Leverkusen (3-2) and Mönchengladbach (3-4). Head coach Vincent Wagner has been given the green light to manage after his suspension was lifted. This will be the first official meeting between the two clubs, and Elversberg will be aiming to maintain their perfect start against the reigning champions.
