BJP Plans ‘Akhilesh Se Behtar Yogi’ Campaign For 2027 UP Polls, To Highlight Governance And Development Record

Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is strategizing its approach for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, with a focus on highlighting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's governance and development record compared to the Samajwadi Party's (SP) Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. At a comprehensive meeting at the BJP state headquarters, senior leaders weighed in on how to counter the opposition's narrative and capitalize on the government's achievements.

The meeting was attended by BJP state organisation leaders, including national organisation general secretary BL Santosh, state in-charge Vinod Tawde, co-in-charge Jagdish Ishwarbhai Patel, and state president Pankaj Chaudhary. The focus was on not getting caught up in the SP's caste-based narrative and instead emphasizing the Yogi government's successes in law and order, public facilities, women's safety, industrial growth, infrastructure, and employment.

Leaders also suggested that the BJP should address the shortcomings of the previous SP government and present evidence-based comparisons to voters. However, concerns were raised over the performance of local government officials in addressing public grievances and maintaining good relations with the party's workers. The BJP aims to leverage its government's record to its advantage while navigating the challenges posed by anti-incumbency sentiment among voters.
