Anwar kenang budi, tak sampai hati singkir Umno, kata Hassan

PAS chairman Hassan Karim stated that Umno has three options to challenge the administration of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. In an interview, Karim said that Umno does not need to wait to be removed from the government if it wants to challenge Anwar's leadership. He explained that Umno has three options, including withdrawing support for the Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) Parliament members, ministers taking their posts, or candidates not believing in Anwar when the parliamentary session comes around.

Karim questioned Umno President Zahid Hamidi's threat to force Umno out of the unity government. Zahid also threatened to file a no-confidence motion against Anwar. Karim said it is inappropriate to make such threats, especially at the Umno General Assembly, according to Berita Harian. He added that Anwar, who is also the chairman of Pakatan Harapan (PH), is a person of honor and will not remove Umno's ministers or the party.

Furthermore, Umno needs to understand that the unity government is not a formal union but a loose alliance, and it can withdraw at any time. According to him, it would be better for Zahid to take an example like PKR Parliament member Rafizi Ramli, who resigned as a minister after losing the PKR election. Earlier tonight, Zahid reiterated Umno's pledge to stay in the government until the election term ends.
