Zoe Bonafonte: “Hay que disfrutar cada proyecto como si fuera el último y gestionar bien el dinero, por favor”

Zoe Bonafonte, born in Barcelona in 2002, made her acting debut in Chicho Sánchez Ferlosio's 2025 film "Gallos rojos, gallos negros" at the tender age of 18. This was the first film she ever appeared in, as well as the first scene she recorded. Director Marcel Barrena and producer Daniel Monzón shared that Zoe's enthusiasm and passion shone through during her first scene, particularly the antifranquista anthem, which she sang a cappella.

Monzón, who later cast Zoe in his next film "Ruega por nosotras," remarked that the actress's performance in the opening scene was perfect and she felt no hesitation in choosing her for the role. Zoe is set to star in three films in the coming months and years. Her first project, "A fuego," hits theaters on August 21st, where she teams up with singer Ruslana to promote collective dance.

"Enfrentados: Marfil," the first installment of a duology based on Mercedes Ron's novels, is set to release on Prime Video on September 9th, where Zoe plays the younger sister of the main character, Ester Expósito. Finally, "Ébano" will follow, featuring more of Zoe's screen time. Her final film, "Ruega por nosotras," centers on the testimonies of women who fell on hard times or were at risk during Spain's dictatorship from 1939 to 1985, aimed at raising their moral spirits.

Zoe is set to premiere this film at the upcoming San Sebastian Film Festival before its wider release in November.
