Vaccination Certificate Made Mandatory for Hajj and Umrah Travelers From Karachi

The Airport Health Department and Border Health Services Pakistan, under the Ministry of National Health Services, have announced new vaccination mandates for Hajj and Umrah travelers departing from Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. Starting September 14, 2026, travelers will be required to present a NADRA-integrated vaccination certificate to board their flights.

The Federal Government Civil Dispensary will be the designated facility for administering vaccines to international passengers embarking on Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages. Passengers are mandated to receive vaccinations for polio, meningitis, yellow fever, and influenza prior to their departure. Airlines have been instructed to inform their travel partners about this requirement and confirm that passengers have completed their vaccinations before departure.

As of September 14, those found traveling without the required vaccination proof, which must be linked to NADRA, will be denied boarding. To support travelers, vaccination and registration services will be established at the international departure area, with airlines advising Umrah passengers to obtain vaccination cards from NADRA-linked centers before embarking on their journey.

Travelers needing vaccinations or registration should arrive at the airport a minimum of six hours before their scheduled departure. NADRA will process vaccination fees via its e-Sahulat service, streamlining the vaccination process for those traveling to participate in the Hajj and Umrah religious observances.
