Umno kekal dalam kerajaan perpaduan, hormat perbezaan pandangan

Malay political party Umno has reaffirmed its commitment to a united government that respects differing viewpoints, according to party President Zahid Hamidi. This stance was emphasized during a media conference following the 2026 Umno General Assembly in Kuala Lumpur.

Zahid stressed that Umno's support for a cohesive government should be honored until the end of the current term. He highlighted that the diversity of opinions within a united government is something that Umno also respects and acknowledges. The president pointed out that differing viewpoints among parties in the government need to be honored, just as Umno respects diverse perspectives from other parties.

He assured that Umno and its ministers within the Jemaah Menteri will maintain professionalism in executing their duties, even in the face of differing opinions within the government. Zahid reiterated that the resolution from the recent PAU (General Assembly) reaffirms Umno's commitment to remaining part of a united government until the end of the current term.

The president clarified that statements made by party officials and regional representatives at the PAU do not constitute the official stance of Umno. He emphasized that the unique viewpoints expressed by party and regional representatives should be viewed within the context of their individual perspectives. Zahid affirmed that the official stance of Umno is limited to statements issued by the party's supreme council or himself.
