(Picture Bernama) Kuala Lumpur: Umno acknowledges the diversity of opinions within a united government and will remain united with the current administration until the end of the term, Zahid Hamidi stated.

He added that differing views among parties in the government should be respected, just as Umno respects differing opinions expressed by other parties. Diverse opinions within a united government should be respected, he said, during a media briefing following the Umno General Assembly (PAU) 2026 in Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre today.

Zahid stated that Umno and its ministers in the Jemaah Menteri will be professional in carrying out their duties despite differing opinions within the government. He added that the PAU resolution that Umno will continue to be united with the government until the end of the term should be respected. Meanwhile, Zahid said that statements made by party and state spokespersons at the PAU cannot be considered Umno's official stance.

He said that differing views voiced by party and state spokespersons and representatives should be viewed within the context of each individual's perspective. Official Umno positions should only come through statements made by the General Assembly or himself, he said. We can respect differing opinions during conventions and conventions.

They can also respect differing opinions voiced by party spokespersons from different states, he said.
