Rennes beat Olympique de Marseille to seize top spot in Ligue 1

Paris, September 12 - Adrien Thomasson scored the lone goal of the match as Rennes emerged provisionally victorious atop Ligue 1 with a 1-0 triumph over Marseille. The defeat marked Marseille's third consecutive loss in the league. Thomasson netted from close range in the second half after Mousa Al-Tamari had back-passed the ball into the box.
