Marquez snatches San Marino sprint ahead of Bezzecchi

Marc Marquez of Spain emerged victorious in the San Marino Grand Prix sprint race, outpacing his two main rivals by a significant margin. The Ducati rider, who is aiming for his eighth championship title and his 10th overall, completed the 13-lap race with a commanding lead over Italy's Marco Bezzecchi and fellow Spaniard Jorge Martin.

Bezzecchi, who started from pole position after setting a Misano track record in qualifying, put up a strong fight but ultimately couldn't close the gap to Marquez. finishing 1.068 seconds behind his Spanish opponent. Martin, who started from the second row, secured third place halfway through the race.

The battle for the riders' title is intensifying among the three contenders, with Martin currently holding a 14-point advantage over Marquez, while Bezzecchi trails by 22 points. On Sunday, Marquez is set to defend his success at the Aragon GP, where he won both races earlier this season, against a very strong Marco Bezzecchi, who started from pole position.

Marquez attributed his victory to the medium rear tyre strategy he employed, which allowed him to keep Bezzecchi's aggression in check. Marquez praised Bezzecchi's determination, stating that the Italian "never gives up." Bezzecchi himself expressed his happiness with the day's performance, noting that he gained confidence in the later stages and started to ride faster.
