Malays should learn from Chinese political unity, says Khaled

Kuala Lumpur: Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin believes Malays should emulate the political unity demonstrated by the Chinese community. Khaled pointed out that despite differences among Chinese political groups, they remain united when their long-term interests are at stake. Even if they engage in heated debates and disagree on various matters, they do not truly split apart.

Khaled highlighted issues like Chinese schools, Unified Examination Certificate recognition, and Kampung Baru interests as examples where Chinese groups speak collectively. Khaled asserts that Malays should adopt a similar unity, working together on community issues even when belonging to different political parties. He suggested that fragmentation within Malay politics has weakened their position and hindered advancement of shared interests.

Khaled proposed platforms such as Rumah Bangsa, Musyawarah Nasional, and Tafahum Siyasi to facilitate this cooperation. His aim is to strengthen a cohesive Malay political voice while respecting differences in ideology and affiliation.
