Lagos charges officers to drive innovation

The Lagos State Government has called upon Learning and Development Schedule Officers across the public service to adopt a mindset of continuous innovation and demonstrate measurable impact, according to Head of Service Bode Agoro. Speaking at Bootcamp 3.0, held in Lekki from Thursday to Saturday, Agoro emphasized the officers' crucial role as guardians of institutional knowledge and change agents.

He urged participants to return to their departments equipped to measure true return on investment and not merely attend workshops. State Commissioner for Establishments and Training Afolabi Ayantayo echoed this sentiment, stating that human capital was the greatest asset under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's leadership. He added that building a future-ready, professional, and agile workforce necessitated measuring success through tangible performance improvements, such as resolving operational bottlenecks and enhancing inter-departmental collaboration.

Dr Olubusola Abidakun, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Establishments and Training, highlighted that over three days, the goal was to transform L&D officers from administrative coordinators into strategic performance architects with a focus on learning agility, precise needs analysis, and robust post-training evaluation.
