Kindiki condemns chaos following disruption of UDA meeting in Embu

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has voiced his disapproval of the disruption that occurred during a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) meeting in Nembure, Embu County. Kindiki, also the deputy leader of the UDA, called for accountability towards those responsible for the ensuing violence. The UDA deputy party leader highlighted the party's disappointment over the alleged loss and damage resulting from the youths being mobilized to disrupt the meeting on Saturday.

"The United Democratic Alliance Party regrets the loss and damage brought about by those responsible for organizing the youth to disrupt our party meeting in Nembure, Embu earlier today," Kindiki declared. He urged law enforcement authorities to impose sanctions on the culprits, stressing that political rivalry should not involve violence.

Kindiki reiterated that the UDA advocates for issue-based politics, where parties compete based on their development records, policy priorities, and plans for Kenya's future. "The Party stands for issue-based politics and a contest around who or which party has a better development track record and policy goals for Kenya’s future," he added.

Kindiki accused political opponents of appealing to voters through deceit, violence, and slogans. He emphasized that political parties should engage the electorate by presenting their policies and performance. The DP confirmed that the ruling party's leadership in Embu has been assigned the task of determining the precise nature and extent of the reported loss or damage and orchestrating the party's response.
