Bus fare hike imminent: Committee seeks objections and suggestions

The Karnataka Public Transport Fare Regulation Committee (KPTFRC) has announced a public consultation for feedback on proposed bus fare revisions. The committee, modeled after Namma Metro's Fare Fixation Committee, was recently established to address concerns over financial losses faced by State Road Transport Corporations (RTCs).

With former IAS officer Atul Kumar Tiwari leading the committee, it aims to study the financial conditions of all four RT corporations and suggest fare revisions, surcharges, and fees to enhance operational efficiency and provide affordable transport services to the public. The committee encourages objections and suggestions to be submitted by September 21 via postal mail or a web link provided.
