2027: ‘You’ve insulted Atiku, damaged NDC’ – David Mark’s aide slams Kwankwaso

Chile Igbawua, adviser to the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has criticized the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Kwankwaso, for insulting the party's presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar. Kwankwaso had suggested Atiku step down from the 2027 presidential race and implied that the NDC would take care of him if they won.

Igbawua stated that this suggestion was an insult and that Kwankwaso had no genuine plans to care for ordinary Nigerians, but rather intended to benefit fellow politicians. The NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi, running with Rabiu Kwankwaso, urged Atiku to reconsider his ambition, pointing out his age and health. Igbawua emphasized that proposing Atiku's care was unreasonable and patronizing, questioning the essence of winning an election if it meant taking care of another individual.
