Presiden Umno Zahid Hamidi has informed the public that Umno-BN has the freedom to determine its own course of action. In Kuala Lumpur, those challenging Umno to step out of the Federal Government only have two options - holding a General Election or formally expelling Umno, which would lead to voters losing faith in the Dewan Rakyat.

Zahid reminds that the current Federal Government exists due to Umno's support following the 15th General Election. He urges anyone daring enough to take such a step to do so quickly and to announce their decision during the Umno Supreme Council meeting in 2026 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.

Zahid emphasizes that cooperation for forming the government now is based on trust, adhering to the advice of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, and seeking stability. Cooperation does not mean surrendering the future of the party. It is not surrender, he stresses firmly. They can work together without losing their identity. They should deliberate without imposing principles.

Seeking common ground while respecting differences. Zahid affirms that Umno and Barisan Nasional have the freedom to determine their own course of action, including dealing with PRU16 and PRN Melaka. This house has its owner. Umno's house has its owner. The owner of this house is the members of Umno across the nation, he adds.
