18th BRICS Summit: AI cancer screening among 37 innovations on display

The 18th BRICS Summit featured an exposition showcasing 37 deep-tech innovations from India, organized by the Ministry of Education in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs. These innovations encompassed a wide range of sectors, including AI-enabled cervical cancer screening, floating solar PV systems, marine robotics, rare-earth-free electric powertrains, and an AI-based maternal-fetal monitoring system.

The two-day "Bharat Innovates Exposition" took place at Bharat Mandapam on Friday and Saturday, serving as a platform for India's deep-tech startups to exhibit their groundbreaking solutions to global stakeholders. This event aimed to foster long-term collaborations between India's innovation ecosystem and international partners, aligning with the theme of India's BRICS Chairship - "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability."

The exposition also supported the BRICS Education Track's priority of Enhancing Research, Innovation, and Start-up Ecosystems. Education Minister Pralhad Joshi attended the exposition, expressing his support for the participating startups and their opportunity to interact with BRICS leaders. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BRICS leaders were also expected to visit the BBI Exposition during the event.
