18th BRICS Summit: AI cancer screening among 37 innovations on display

The 18th BRICS Summit hosted an exposition featuring 37 innovative technologies showcased by India's higher education ecosystem. These innovations span various sectors such as AI-enabled cervical cancer screening, floating solar photovoltaics, marine robotics, rare-earth-free electric powertrains, and an AI-based maternal-fetal monitoring system.

Organized by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, the two-day 'Bharat Innovates Exposition' aims to foster long-term collaborations between India's innovation ecosystem and global stakeholders. The BRICS Bharat Innovates (BBI) Exposition, now in its second year, aligns with India's BRICS Chairship theme of 'Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability'.

The expo, taking place alongside the BRICS Business Forum on September 11, 2026, provides opportunities for B2B engagements, technology partnerships, investment discussions, and international market access. Education Minister Pralhad Joshi visited the exposition to engage with these potential game-changers and highlight India's commitment to advancing research, innovation, and startup ecosystems.
