Ucapan Zahid beri keyakinan penyatuan umat Islam akan berjaya, kata Nik Abduh

Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz emphasized President Umno Zahid Hamidi's speech at the Umno Grand Convention (PAU) 2026 as a sign that proves the union of the Islamic community can be successful. He further stated that both parties are now ready to move towards Putrajaya. When asked about Zahid's speech, he said, "Zahid Hamidi's speech is a very convincing one that the unity of the Islamic community will succeed, Allah willing, and we are ready to go to Putrajaya."

Nik Abduh, discussing the presence of PAS leaders at the Umno annual gathering, viewed it as proof that the relationship between the two parties has become more open. He thanked Umno for their presence at their mukhtar, and expressed belief that Umno would also be happy to have them present. Among the attending PAS leaders were PAS Deputy General Secretary Takiyuddin Hassan, PAS Media Head Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, PAS Deputy President Idris Ahmad, and Syahir Sulaiman, a member of the Bachok parliamentary seat who doubles as PAS' Political Secretary.

The attendance of PAS leaders came after Umno sent a delegation to PAS' Annual Muktamar 72 in Kota Bharu earlier this month, which was led by Umno Deputy General Secretary Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki. Earlier, Asyraf had invited the highest leadership of PAS to PAU, seeing it as a mark of respect and in response to Umno's invitation to attend their muktamar.

Relations between Umno and PAS gained renewed attention after BN and PN reached an understanding at the PRN Negeri Sembilan, with both blocs controlling 25 out of 36 seats and forming a state government.
