Ucapan Zahid beri keyakinan penyatuan umat Islam akan berjaya, kata Nik Abduh

PAS and Umno's relationship appears to be becoming more open, as evidenced by the presence of PAS leadership at Umno's 2026 Grand Assembly, according to Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz. The President of Umno, Zahid Hamidi, delivered a speech at the Grand Assembly that Nik Abduh believes is a strong indication that efforts to unite the Islamic community can be successful.

"Zahid Hamidi's speech is extremely convincing that the unity of the Islamic community will be successful, Allah willing, and we are ready to go to Putrajaya," he said when met at the PAU 2026 held at the World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur today. Nik Abduh sees the presence of PAS leaders at Umno's annual gathering as proof that the relationship between the two parties is now more open.

"We are very grateful for the presence of Umno at our muktamar. We are sure that Umno is also happy for us to be here," he added. Notable PAS leaders in attendance include PAS Deputy Chairman Takiyuddin Hassan, PAS Spokesman Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, PAS Deputy President Idris Ahmad, and Syahir Sulaiman, who is also the Deputy Political Secretary to PAS President Hadi Awang.

The visit of PAS leaders followed Umno's delegation to PAS's Annual Muktamar 72 in Kota Bharu earlier this month, which was chaired by Umno Deputy Chairman Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki. Earlier, Asyraf had invited the top leadership of PAS to PAU, seen as a gesture of respect and reciprocating Umno's invitation to attend their muktamar. Relations between Umno and PAS have once again become a topic of interest following BN and PN reaching an agreement in PRN Negeri Sembilan, which saw both alliances controlling 25 out of 36 seats and forming the state government.
