Recruiting Roundup: Texas A&M to host long list of blue-chip prospects

Texas A&M is set to host a large number of highly-rated prospects during their Week 2 home game against Arizona State. This event has been a crucial recruiting opportunity for the team in recent years, with 150 prospects attending over the past three recruiting cycles. The Aggies are currently favored to secure the services of 2027 four-star player Za Kari Johnson, who is currently committed to Florida State.

While the 2029 recruiting class is not as prominent, establishing early connections with recruits is essential. This weekend, coach Mike Elko and general manager Derek Miller will be hosting four of the Aggies' top-rated 2027 commitments, including five-star offensive tackle Mark Matthews. Notable visitors include five-star edge Zyron Forstall, wide receiver Eric McFarland III, linebacker Kaden Henderson, and rising four-star edge Kaden McCarty.

The 2028 recruiting class is also expected to be impressive, with Texas A&M hosting three blue-chip prospects in the Top100, including four-star wide receiver Tromon Issac, offensive tackle Jamario Canton, and linebacker Andre Alexander. Canton will be visiting for the second time this June, and the Aggies will also host the second-ranked quarterback in the 2029 cycle, four-star Linc Frazier from Willis, Texas.
