Oct 26 declared as replacement holiday for Selangor sultan’s Silver Jubilee

Selangor's state government has declared October 26 as a replacement public holiday to observe the 25th anniversary of Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah's reign. State Secretary Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin announced the decision on a press conference, stating that the main celebration and special public holiday would be held on October 25, which fell on a Sunday.

Fadzli explained that the following day, Monday, October 26, has been declared a replacement public holiday to compensate for the previously scheduled day. The Silver Jubilee celebrations are set to take place from September 28 to November 1, reflecting loyalty, respect, and gratitude from the state administration and people. In total, 20 official programs and events have been organized, encompassing community affairs, religious activities, environmental sustainability, infrastructure development, and sports.

The government emphasizes its respect for Sultan Sharafuddin's request to conduct the celebrations in a modest, prudent manner, with a significant impact and without waste.
