Oct 26 declared as replacement holiday for Selangor sultan’s Silver Jubilee

The Selangor government has declared October 26 as a replacement public holiday across the state to mark the 25th anniversary of the reign of Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. The main celebration and special public holiday is set to take place on October 25, but as it falls on a Sunday, the following day, Monday, October 26, has been designated as the replacement holiday.

State Secretary Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin announced this decision during a press conference at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Building. The Silver Jubilee celebrations will be held from September 28 to November 1, showcasing the state administration and people's loyalty, respect, and gratitude towards the Sultan. Twenty official programs and events, covering various aspects such as community affairs, religious activities, environmental sustainability, infrastructure development, and sports, have been planned for the occasion.

The state government has emphasized their respect for Sultan Sharafuddin's request to conduct the celebrations in a modest and prudent manner, ensuring maximum impact and avoiding wastage.
