Hyundai pens in November launch time for all-new Venue

Hyundai has announced plans to showcase its all-new second-generation Venue, styled more aggressively compared to the original model, in South Africa in November. This launch follows the vehicle's approval for the South African market in 2026 last year. The Venue will be revealed in India last October, sharing the same engines as the outgoing generation.

The new model will continue to adhere to the sub-four metre regulations, as it rides on the K-platform co-developed with Hyundai, using the newer K1 architecture. Key dimensions remain unchanged, with an increase in height by 40mm and width by 30mm compared to its predecessor. Hyundai has also revamped both the exterior and interior aesthetics, making it resemble the new Santa Fe.

The vehicle will feature a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25 or 12.3-inch infotainment system, a new multi-function steering wheel, and a digital climate control panel. Depending on the trim level, additional features could include a wireless smartphone charging pad, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, and an eight-speaker Bose sound system.

The safety and driver assistance features will include six airbags, a surround-view camera system, tyre pressure monitor, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and Driver Attention Alert. The rear has been completely redesigned. The local market will initially launch with a Premium trim powered by the carryover 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 61kW/113Nm, with a five-speed manual transmission option.

The N Line will remain at the top of the range. For South Africa, Hyundai will again offer only the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The predecessor model has been removed from Hyundai South Africa's website as it has reached its end-of-life. Pricing details for the new Venue are expected to be announced once the official launch time is set in November.
