Cross River police strengthen partnership with DSS, Air Force on security

The Cross River State Police Command has bolstered its collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Air Force to bolster intelligence sharing, coordinated operations, and swift response to emerging security threats in the region. During separate strategic meetings with State Director of the DSS, Mr Oluwole Faluyi, and Commander of the 305 Special Mobility Group, Calabar, Group Captain B. N. Samaila, Cross River Police Commissioner CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue emphasized the significance of intelligence in modern policing.

He highlighted that timely, accurate, and actionable intelligence is essential for preventing crime and effectively responding to security challenges.

Ordue stressed the necessity of closer collaboration among police, DSS, Air Force, and other security agencies to strengthen the state’s security infrastructure and safeguard lives and property. He affirmed the police command’s dedication to maintaining strong institutional relationships with other security forces, stating that no single agency can effectively address emerging security threats alone.

During discussions with Mr Faluyi, the focus was on enhancing intelligence sharing, information exchange, and inter-agency coordination, particularly in identifying, preventing, and responding to security threats before they escalate. Ordue reiterated, "Stronger collaboration among security agencies remains critical to sustaining peace and protecting lives and property across Cross River State."

In his meeting with Group Captain Samaila, the Commissioner called for greater operational synergy between the police and the Air Force, particularly in areas requiring complementary capabilities and coordinated deployment. He emphasized that effective security operations necessitate seamless cooperation, professional communication, mutual support, and coordinated responses among sister agencies.

Group Captain Samaila assured the Commissioner of the Air Force’s continued support in fortifying joint security efforts in the state.
