Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has revealed his plans for the future leadership of Nigeria. His wife, Titi, has disclosed that her husband intends to mentor his running mate, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on the intricacies of politics if Atiku secures the presidency in 2027.

If elected, Atiku has expressed a willingness to step down after one term, though his wife suggests that Nigerians will undoubtedly yearn for him to seek a second term due to his perceived ability to improve the nation's living conditions.

Titi emphasized that Atiku is no novice and will not be learning the ropes of politics on the job. She believes that by the time Atiku assumes office, Nigerians will be eager to see him run for a second term. Regardless, Atiku has ruled out wanting Nigeria's resources for himself, stating that his primary goal is to give back to the society that has supported him throughout his life.

With Nigeria's economy currently in disarray and without a budget since 2023, Titi lamented the dire state of the country, questioning how people manage to survive and put food on their tables.

She added that upon Atiku assuming the presidency, there will be a demand for him to seek a second term, attributing it to his potential to guide his deputy effectively and ensure a smooth transition of power.
