45,808 rejoin Umno under Rumah Bangsa initiative, says Asyraf Wajdi

KUALA LUMPUR: According to Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, 45,808 individuals have re-joined the party since the Rumah Bangsa initiative began approximately seven months ago. This number includes those who rejoined, reactivated their membership, or joined through the initiative. Asyraf expressed gratitude to former top leaders for their contributions, including Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, Khairy Jamaluddin, and Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar among others.

The overall membership of Umno as of August 31 now stands at 3,251,456, with 1.4 million women, 418,000 youth, and 226,000 Puteri members. During the 2026 Umno General Assembly, members from various opposition parties, including MCA president Dr Wee Ka Siong and MIC president Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran, attended the event. Umno has also seen a notable rise in new members over the past eight months, with Johor recording the highest increase, followed by Pahang, Selangor, Perak, and Sabah.

Asyraf highlighted the resurgence of the party's spirit and the strong winds of change sweeping across Malaysia, signaling the party's reawakening.
