‘Sale of govt jobs’ won’t be allowed, says Balochistan CM Bugti

QUETTA: Balochistan's Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has firmly stated that government jobs within the province will not be subject to sale, asserting that no minister or secretary will be immune if concrete evidence of such activity surfaces. Gathering with secretaries' committee members Thursday, Bugti directed an investigation into allegations of irregularities in the forest department's hiring practices.

He emphasized that those found culpable following an impartial investigation would be subject to stringent legal consequences, emphasizing the government's commitment to safeguarding the employment rights of Balochistan's youth. During the session, the team also assessed the performance and advancements of provincial departments under the Annual Development Programme and examined recruitment protocols.

Immediate action was taken to implement the approved policy for merit-based hiring through AI, with provincial ministers Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi and Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Chief Secretary Shakil Qadir Khan, and other officials present. Bugti reiterated that the government had made it abundantly clear that no position would be sold, declaring the administration's unified stance on this policy.

He instructed officials to uphold transparency and meritocracy in the recruitment process, pledging that political pressure, nepotism, or influence would not be condoned. Orders were given for the immediate execution of the finalized policy for merit-based hiring through AI for all positions at Grade 5 and above, with assessments carried out locally and the assistance of the Chief Minister's Secretariat.

Officials were urged to conduct their responsibilities with honesty and impartiality. The gathering also evaluated advancements in development initiatives.
