Zelensky arrives in Canada for talks with leaders

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Canada on Wednesday, setting the stage for discussions with Canadian leaders on strengthening bilateral ties. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's office highlighted that the visit would focus on defense, economic and energy cooperation, as well as addressing the human impact of Russia's aggression. The leader and his wife, Olena Zelenska, will make stops in Calgary, Toronto, North Bay, and Banff, Alberta, before concluding their trip on Friday.

The trip follows a visit to Norway for the funeral of King Harald V, during which there were concerns about a potential drone threat. While the Ukrainian presidency dismissed these claims, Moldova reported that a Russian drone had entered its airspace near the Chisinau International Airport, causing minor flight delays. Zelensky's visit to Norway was primarily aimed at discussing air-defence support and civilian assistance.
