Zahid to meet Negeri Sembilan MB over proclamation to remove ruler

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi plans to meet Negeri Sembilan menteri besar Ismail Lasim during the party's general assembly. The meeting is in response to Ismail's claim that he was coerced into signing a proclamation aimed at removing Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as the state ruler. During a press conference, Ismail stated he signed the document against his will and lodged a police report.

The document, signed on August 3, was presented at the conference by four undangs. Despite the claims, Ismail denies signing the proclamation and maintains his loyalty to the ruler. Zahid, however, has not confirmed if he is involved in the proclamations removal. He also mentioned that Umno would cooperate with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) if there were strong evidence for prosecution, though official information on the matter is reportedly lacking.
