Rosmah’s solar graft case: High Court to hear fresh evidence from key witness on Sept 17

The High Court in Malaysia has set September 17 for the hearing of additional evidence in the case against Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of former Prime Minister Najib Razak. The prosecution witness, Rayyan Radzwill Abdullah, will be called to provide new testimony. Judge Aslam Zainuddin made the decision after Rosmah's legal team, led by Datuk Jagjit Singh, argued that the Court of Appeal had allowed Rosmah to present additional evidence in her appeal against her conviction and 10-year sentence in the RM1.25 billion solar hybrid project graft trial.

The Court of Appeal ordered that the additional evidence be obtained from Rayyan through further cross-examination and re-examination. Rosmah's appeal had been pending since 2022, and her defense team expressed concern about a further delay, but the judge ruled that a week or two of additional postponement would not prejudice the defense.
