Puteri Umno has called on the government to provide a comprehensive package of support for young single mothers in Malaysia. The party's leader, Nurul Amal Fauzi, emphasized that the package should include job opportunities, housing provision, and Shariah-based family support to enable these women to become self-reliant. Speaking at the Puteri Umno 2026 General Assembly, Nurul Amal stressed that the party and the government must actively involve women under 40 in decision-making processes, including hiring in government-linked companies (GLCs), state-linked firms (PBTs), charities, and as election candidates.

She argued that 30% women's participation should not be a mere figure but should translate into tangible opportunities that can be observed and proven. "We are not just needed to promote diversity, fill the party's executive, or become the face of campaigns," Nurul Amal said. "We need to be given the space to lead." Nurul Amal added that at 25 years old, her generation wants to move away from the old style of political anger and enmity that is no longer accepted by the younger generation.

"We want to bring politics to a more focused trust-building approach, centered on addressing people's problems, integrity, and the ability to rebuild young people's confidence in the country's political landscape."
