North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s daughter believed to have younger sibling, says Seoul

SEOUL, September 10 — South Korea's spy agency has disclosed that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's daughter, Kim Ju Ae, may have an even younger sibling, according to their statement on Thursday. The NIS has previously reported that Kim possesses three children, but the order of their births remains unclear. Ju Ae, who made her public debut in 2022 alongside her father during the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, is currently considered the heir apparent to the North Korean regime.

The NIS asserts that Ju Ae is being prepared for succession, while a potential older brother, if present, is unlikely to assume the role. Throughout 2022, Ju Ae has been seen at various significant political events alongside Kim, including a notable visit to Beijing. North Korean state media have consistently referred to her as "the beloved child" and a "great person of guidance" (hyangdo), a title traditionally bestowed upon leaders and their successors.
