Man dies after suspected heart attack, falls into septic tank pit in Kota Bharu

KOTA BHARU, September 10 — According to reports, a 48-year-old man named Zakari Mat Jusoh passed away after suffering a suspected heart attack and falling into a three-meter-deep septic tank pit that was under construction in Taman Permai, Demit, near Kota Bharu. The Kota Bharu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) was alerted to the incident at 5:28 pm, and firefighters arrived at the scene 9 minutes later.

Upon arrival, they discovered an unconscious man inside the deep hole. The firefighters carefully extracted the victim using a stretcher before medical personnel from the Ministry of Health assessed his condition. Medical officers confirmed Zakari's death at the scene. The family had reported that he had a history of heart problems and was scheduled for a medical appointment the previous week.

At the time of the incident, witnesses stated that Zakari was measuring the hole for septic tank installation when he suddenly collapsed and fell into the pit. Initial medical evaluations indicated that he had likely experienced a heart attack before losing consciousness. The rescue operation concluded at 5:53 pm, and the body was subsequently turned over to the police for further procedures.
