Man dies after suspected heart attack, falls into septic tank pit in Kota Bharu

KOTA BHARU, September 10 — A 48-year-old man named Zakari Mat Jusoh succumbed to what appears to be a heart attack, which led him to fall into a three-meter-deep septic tank pit under construction in Taman Permai, Demit, near Kota Bharu on the afternoon of September 10th. The Kota Bharu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) was alerted to the incident at 5:28 pm, and the emergency services arrived at the scene 9 minutes later.

Upon arrival, the firefighters discovered an unconscious man inside a three-meter-deep pit. The team carefully extracted the victim using a stretcher before medical personnel from the Ministry of Health conducted an examination. The victim was confirmed dead at the scene by medical officers. Zakari's family had reported that he had a history of heart problems and had a medical appointment the previous week.

The victim was reportedly measuring the hole for the septic tank installation when he collapsed and fell into it. Based on initial assessments by the medical team, it is suspected that Zakari suffered a heart attack before he lost consciousness. The rescue operation concluded at 5:53 pm, after which the body was handed over to the police for further procedures.
