Ja'Marr Chase eyeing Super Bowl, good health to begin Bengals season

Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja Marr Chase is reportedly fully prepared for the season-opening match against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to recent reports. This positive development comes as Chase has been able to maintain his normal practice workload since recovering from an injury sustained in a training camp collision on August 25.

The incident, which involved Chase colliding with cornerback DJ Turner II, led to several missed practices, though these were deemed precautionary by Chase himself. Cincinnati head coach Zac Taylor had previously expressed confidence that both Chase and receiver Tee Higgins would be fully involved in the Sept. 13 home opener, and Chase was confirmed as a full participant in the practice sessions leading up to the game.

With the prospect of a healthy Chase, the Bengals' star receiver is now set to kick off his sixth NFL season with aspirations of securing a Super Bowl victory. During a Sept. 10 news conference, Chase emphasized that his primary goals for the upcoming season are centered around winning the Super Bowl and reaching the AFC Championship. He added that any other personal or statistical targets are secondary to these ultimate objectives.

In addition to his role as a player, Chase has also been appointed as a team captain for the second consecutive year. This position of leadership brings with it a heightened sense of responsibility, as Chase must lead by example both on and off the field. "The thing overall with being a captain is obviously, the whole team is looking at me," Chase stated. "Everyone is really looking at me, asking me things and just expecting me to do the right thing. I always lead by example, but I think it's just being more vocal."
